"His notes were snatched and sung from his passaggio with so much care and delicacy that the very roof timbers hummed in unison."   "Opera Magazine"

Described by the BBC as “England’s Mario Lanza” and "simply brilliant" by The Times, Alexander Grove is one of the most versatile tenors to have emerged from the UK in recent years. He is an award-winning lyric-spinto tenor, performing on stage and screen, known for his versatility, wide range of repertoire, interpretations and stagecraft. In an era where highly trained, educated and skilled vocal athletes are being ignored in favour of social media fluff, Alexander is among some of the most versatile and respected artists and vocal coaches in classical music today.

Currently signed to Universal Music and a resident tenor at Gothenburg Opera, Sweden, Alexander is a former boy chorister of St Paul’s Cathedral, London and later trained as an undergraduate and post-graduate at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and the Georg Solti Accademia di Bel Canto in Italy. Alexander’s solo career spans the opera, oratorio, concert and musical theatre stages, television, radio and recordings: from recording at Abbey Road Studios, London to performing to capacity crowds of over 30,000 per night in some of Europe’s largest venues such the O2 Arena, to lead roles in opera houses around the UK and Europe. Having trained under or performed with some of the world’s most respected artists such as Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Nicolai Gedda and Sir Georg Solti amongst many others, Alexander established himself early on as a versatile and respected soloist. His performances have been heard all over the world from the USA to Japan and as far flung as Teatro Amazonas in the Amazonian rainforest.

In addition to performing, Alexander is a vocal + stagecraft coach and consultant. He supports students through his private studio as well as being a former Visiting Fellow of the University of Aberdeen and is often invited to teach or give masterclasses in stagecraft, vocal technique and stage fighting in specialist institutions, opera houses and music colleges.

Alexander is CEO of Vocalizzi Productions and creator of the international tenor group, TENORI who regularly perform around the world and recently performed to over 4.5 million people on Sweden's largest televised song programme Melodifestivalen.

  • Trivia

Alexander has performed many times for the English Royal Family and for many years was close to Queen Elisabeth the Queen Mother. He sang for her for her 90th Birthday at Horseguard's Parade, London.

Whilst a boy chorister, Alexander was asked to tour with Michael Jackson on his Black and White Tour.

Early in his career Alexander worked with Stephen Spielberg and George Lucas while recording the soundtrack for the film The Land Before Time.

While touring the USA he performed in a private concert for the President Bush Snr at the White House, Washington. Patricia Routledge was the choir’s chaperone. She was exceptionally good at football...

Alexander has surprised audiences at Battlejam at Cargo in London twice with beatboxer, Beardyman, whilst in disguise. Both times he came close to getting thrown off stage until the audience realised what was happening.

Alexander sang on the first global Häagen Dazs cinematic advert.
