Han låter figuren bli en i grunden hygglig karl som låter förståndet ramla ner i byxorna och sedan drabbas av mordlust när han känner sig snuvad på konfekten.</p><p>Alexander Grove makes a very good Don José - a well balanced tenor with power all the way to the top. Much of Carmen's music is aggressive and assertive while much of Don José's is sensitive and highly emotive which makes it difficult to paint him as a sole aggressor in this context.
